About Christine
When
starting with a coach of any type, it’s very important for that relationship to
‘click’. Obviously, we need to chat a bit so we can determine whether we
feel as if we will work well together.
I am a
GRITS (Girl Raised In The South), being raised in South Carolina with my three
brothers. My pace is a balance between southern (slow) and northern (fast). As
a result, my manner comes across as calming and focused, while still energetic,
which appeals to many people. My personality is warm and caring - and from time
to time you can even hear a bit of my southern drawl!
I have a
keen interest in people as people – learning about them and what they want out
of their life, their dancing, and their image. Being strongly interested your
goals enables me to best serve you by catering an Out of the Ordinary solution
just for you!
Life
Coach
My work
and life experience have laid a natural foundation for my coaching skills. I
moved right out of college into restaurant management, immediately applying my
undergraduate Business Administration (Management) principles into real life.
After that first work experience, I moved into department store operations
management, then into human resources. My experience in HR spans the retail,
restaurant, insurance and chemical industries in positions of progressively
greater responsibilities. Being a veracious learner, I acquired along the way a
professional certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR),
had the privilege of attending the Center for Creative Leadership, and conquered
a Master in Business Administration from Centenary College. Before leaving the
corporate environment to launch Break Out of the Ordinary, I enjoyed two years
as a successful sales coach.
Coaching,
as a profession, is in total alignment with my personal philosophy of relating
to people: Find out what they need and help them get it. This philosophy has
been further developed through my education in and graduation from Coach U’s
Core Essentials program. Contact me to

Dance Instructor
As a
little girl, I learned tap and ballet and was later able to apply that learning
of body movement to gymnastics and springboard diving. My dad was in the
military and I often attended dances as his companion. As a young adult, I
learned social ballroom and country dancing, both of which enabled me meet
like-minded people in the places I lived.
When I
discovered West Coast Swing, it was a great challenge to me because it isn’t
like the structured, repetitive steps I found within ballroom and country. WCS
allows musical interpretation and improvisation along with fun partnering
opportunities within the basic framework of the dance. Learning the foundation
of the dance came through hard work and practice. Once I had the solid follower
foundation (and because of the shortage of leaders!), I eventually began to lead
the dance as well.
Now, ten
years later, I’m still dancing WCS because each dance with each song with each
partner is a different and unique experience. I’m excited to combine my work
experience in training and facilitation with this amazingly fun dance and offer
workshops that appeal and apply to all levels of WCS dancer.
